What is Occupational Therapy at Helena Autism Therapy Center

Occupational therapy helps people participate in the things they need and want to do through the use of therapeutic activities.
This includes:

  • Helping children participate in school or social situations
  • Complete self-care activities
  • Participate Play

Occupational Therapy at Hope’s Place

At Hope’s Place, our Occupational Therapists collaborate with families and the behavior therapy team to ensure skills and progress extend seamlessly across different environments. Our therapy interventions are carefully designed to promote independence and enrich everyday life for each child.

Our Occupational Therapy interventions include:

  • Fostering independence in self-care tasks
  • Supporting participation in household activities and community involvement
  • Enhancing fine motor skills (such as handwriting, managing fasteners, and using tools)
  • Strengthening gross motor skills (with a focus on strength, coordination, and body awareness)
  • Improving sensory processing and self-regulation abilities

Through our collaborative approach, we help children develop essential skills for a more empowered and engaged life.
